UAAP apologizes for calling NU Bulldogs ‘overrated’

MANILA, Philippines – The University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) on July 22 made waves on social media–not for the results of the Sunday double-header, but for a tweet. 

Following Ateneo’s thrashing of the NU Bulldogs, the UAAP Online Media Bureau (@UAAPSeason75) tweeted that the National University (NU) team is “overrated.” 

Is NU 'overrated?' This tweet from an intern says the team is. 

The tweet immediately garnered reactions from social media, prompting the online media bureau to apologize. The original tweet has since been deleted.

Their first apology was also met with criticism, prompting them to tweet again:
Again, no intention to offend anyone by naming where the intern came from. Just clearing that the one who posted the tweet is not from ADMU.UAAP Season 75
