Queen Elizabeth II declares the games open during a colorful ceremony that celebrates British history, culture and eccentricity
LONDON, United Kingdom – The Olympic cauldron was lit by 7 young British athletes early Saturday to mark the start of the 30th Olympic Games.
Queen Elizabeth II had opened the Games, which will feature over 10,000 athletes from 205 countries and run until August 12, during a colorful opening ceremony which celebrated British history, culture and eccentricity.
