MANILA, Philippines – Led by the heroics of Alyssa Valdez and Jaja Santiago, PLDT Home Ultera beat the Army Lady Troopers in 5 sets to claim the Shakey’s V-League open conference title on Sunday, May 31 at the San Juan Arena.
It was an afternoon of drama as two members of the Philippine national women’s volleyball team – Alyssa Valdez and Jaja Santiago – stepped up when their team needed them the most, with Valdez scoring 29 and Santiago delivering 17.

Valdez shined brightest on this day but it was Santiago who earned the Finals Most Valuable Player award for her contributions throughout the 3-game series.
