MANILA, Philippines – It all comes down to one final game. The Philippines – winner of all but one Southeast Asian Games basketball title since 1977, are seeking their 17th title in the subcontinental event.
Gilas, led by UAAP stars Kiefer Ravena, Almond Vosotros and Troy Rosario, plus naturalized national team veteran Marcus Douthit, have marched through the competition so far, except for a tougher-than-expected challenge from Thailand in the semifinals.
