MANILA, Philippines – Let’s start off by saying that Shaquille O’Neal was one of the greatest centers in National Basketball Association history, and his mere presence on the court impacted how defenses approached a team in a way that few others have.
OK, that’s out of the way.
Shaquille O’Neal’s golf swing is hilarious.
“The Big Aristotle” hit the links as part of Greenbrier Classic pro-am event in West Virginia on Wednesday, July 1. Lee Trevino, a multiple-time Majors winner, was slated to be his caddy. Shaq swung and missed twice, before driving the ball a distance that few people under 7-foot-1, 300 pounds can accomplish.
What’s good for the 4-time NBA champion is that he won’t have to worry about hearing taunts from his colleagues when he returns to work at NBA on TNT, considering that one of his coworkers is Charles Barkley.
Afterwards, Shaq conceded that his golf game had room for improvement, but says that it’s at least better than Sir Charles’.
“Better than Barkley’s, but awful,” Shaq said of his golf game. “I took him for $100,000 once.”
How's your game, Shaq? "Better than Barkley's, but awful. I took him for $100,000 once." pic.twitter.com/5zBgPN5xNX— Jason Sobel (@JasonSobelESPN) July 1, 2015
But hey, not everyone can be like Mike.
