Charly Suarez will face a new opponent as the VSP Boxing event he will be headlining got postponed and moved to a different location.

Initially slated to fight Lorence Rosas in Paniqui, Tarlac on April 24, Suarez will instead tangle with Pablito Canada Jr in a six-round super featherweight bout in Urdaneta City, Pangasinan on May 1.

Suarez, a former Olympian and a three-time Southeast Asian Games gold medalist, is heavily favored against Canada as he boasts an undefeated 5-0 record in his professional career.

Canada, meanwhile, holds a 7-18-4 win-loss-draw card, with one of his defeats coming against Rosas via unanimous decision.

Richard Pumipic (21-11-2) will lock horns with Landy Cris de Leon (13-21-5) in a six-round super featherweight clash in the supporting bout.

In another super featherweight duel, Arnel Baconaje (11-4) will go up against Jay Lloyd Quidlat (4-1-2) as they both eye to bounce back from their previous losses.

Other fights in the event pit featherweights Lorenz Ladrada (8-1-1) and Marklin Itim (2-4), lightweights Eljohn Evangelista (4-3), and Roy Sumugat (10-11-1), and super flyweights Jover Amistoso (1-0) and Noli James Maquilan (debut).

Completing the fight card is the featherweight battle between Franco Serafica (4-1) and Mark Anthony Rotilles (2-6). – Rappler.com
