A new boxer hero arrives in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang as Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao partners with the popular mobile game.
Mobile Legends welcomed Pacquiao as its new ambassador on Saturday, November 21, a week after the hero – aptly named Paquito – got introduced in the Land of the Dawn.
"The dedication, the focus, and the hard work that comes with building skills, these are present in both sports and esports," Pacquiao said in his introductory press conference.
Just like Pacquiao – the only boxer to win titles in 8 different divisions – Paquito has the same backstory as he started boxing at a young age on the way to becoming the strongest fighter in the world.
Paquito, who has a damage and chase specialty, is available in the advanced server of the game and will soon be released in the original server.
Mobile Legends has one of the biggest esports community in the country, with the game being played in professional leagues The Nationals and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Philippines.
The game debuted as a medal event in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games, where the Philippines won the gold medal. – Rappler.com
