MANILA, Philippines – Barangay Ginebra San Miguel opens their campaign at the PBA PLDT Home TVolution Commissioner’s Cup Friday, March 7 at 8pm against the Barako Bull Energy Cola, who will be reinforced by forward John Dollard. Ginebra, of course, will also have help – Leon Rodgers.

Rappler caught up with the 33-year-old import after Ginebra’s tune-up game against their Philippine Cup tormentor, San Mig Super Coffee Mixers.

Rodgers spoke about playing with Ginebra, what his role is in the team, and how he hopes to help the GinKings end its 6-year title drought.

Ginebra reached the Finals last year with the help of hard-working import Vernon Macklin. Unfortunately, the Kings were swept, 3-0, by the Alaska Aces. This year, with a taller and more talented roster, Ginebra hopes to make it back to the Finals and finally win it all.
