MANILA, Philippines – Air21 Express gunner Renren Ritualo is now an unrestricted free agent as of 10 am today, according to Air21 Governor Lito Alvarez.

Ritualo’s agent Sheryl Reyes confirmed the news to Rappler.

Reyes added that the Alaska Aces have shown interest in hiring Ritualo. Aces head coach Luigi Trillo requested to meet up with the former Green Archer.

Ritualo, according to Reyes, says he is “very happy and appreciates the chance given to play for Alaska.”

She added Ritualo is very thankful towards the Alaska management and is very much thankful to the Air21 squad for giving him another opportunity.

Ritualo, the 2002 PBA Rookie of the Year, has been in the PBA for 13 seasons, playing for FedEx Express, Talk ‘N Text, Meralco, and Shopinas/Air21.

He is best known for his outside sniping, firing 773 triples throughout his PBA career including a league record 9 three-pointers in a single quarter.

He donned the Team Pilipinas jersey in 2007 under coach Chot Reyes together with the likes of Jimmy Alapag, Mark Caguioa, Kelly Williams, and Asi Taulava.

His career averages are 10.9 PPG, 1.7 RPG, 1.4 APG, 0.6 SPG, and 0.1 BPG, per pba-online.net.

In case the deal is completed, Ritualo will have the chance to join other backcourt gunners in the Aces’ fold, like JVee Casio and Dondon Hontiveros. – Rappler.com
