MANILA, Philippines – The Air21 Express continue to beef up their roster with another trade.

The trade, which reportedly reflected right after Air21’s victory over Barako Bull on Friday night, March 14, had the Express shipping bigman Carlo Sharma along with forward Ronnie Matias to GlobalPort Batang Pier, in exchange for another big in Enrico Villanueva.

The 33-year old Villanueva was a former Most Valuable Player (MVP) during his collegiate career in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) with the Ateneo Blue Eagles.

Standing at 6-foot-5, Villanueva was a 2003 7th overall draft pick and has since went on to become a PBA Mythical First Team member. He was also the Most Improved Player in the 2004-2005 season.

Over his 11-year PBA career, Villanueva has averaged 9.75 points and 6.37 rebounds, per pba-online.net.

Matias and Sharma suited up for Air21 during their dominant win against Barako, scoring 7 and two markers, respectively.

Air21 in the past week traded Vic Manuel for Alaska’s Aldrech Ramos, who quickly strut his stuff with the Express dropping 17 points on a perfect 4-of-4 from long range. – Rappler.com
