WATCH: Former PBA MVP Arwind Santos releases first single ‘Bagyo’

MANILA, Philippines – Former PBA MVP Arwind Santos has gone from the basketball court to the recording studio. 

Santos released his first music video to the public on Saturday, November 1, 2014. Entitled “Bagyo” (Storm), the song is the carrier single from his debut album that has 12 original tracks. 

In the video description, the San Miguel Beermen forward was described as someone who “loves to write songs during his free time.”

“Bagyo was inspired by the series of typhoons in the Philippines this year. He tried helping affected families all over the country in his own small ways,” it added. 

The music video starts off with typhoon scenes the later on shifts to footage of Santos while practicing with the rest of the Beermen. Hosts of TV show “Showtime” Vhong Navarro, Billy Crawford, Jhong Hilario, Jugs Jugueta also appeared in the video.  

Santos was further described as someone passionate to music and that this video, as well as the album, was made specially for his fans. 

“He is not a singer,” the description added. “Smile! Arwind is just having fun.”

Santos hasn’t given up his day job, and most recently led San Miguel to a victory over Barako Bull Energy Cola on Sunday night with 27 points and 7 rebounds. – Rappler.com
