Bobby Ray Parks Jr. works out for Jazz, thinks he did ‘alright’
The former UAAP MVP will also workout for four more NBA teams

MANILA, Philippines – Bobby Ray Parks is currently in the United States as he pursues his dream of making it to the NBA.

While his ultimate goal is still far from reach, he’s at least taken some steps that get him closer to attaining that.

On Tuesday, June 16 (PH time), Parks had a pre-draft workout for the Utah Jazz. Over the next few days, the former two-time UAAP MVP will also workout for the Brooklyn Nets, Dallas Mavericks, Boston Celtics, and Atlanta Hawks.

The NBA Draft is scheduled to take place on June 25 (US time).

How did Parks do in his workout with the Jazz? “I think I did alright,” he told the media in a video released by the NBA franchise following the workout. “I’m just really trying to do what I can do and just work hard and show the coaches what I can bring to the team.”

Parks, who was set to play for Georgia State before taking a detour to the Philippines and suiting up for National University, said he moved back to his mother’s home country to play for the national team and spend time with his father, former 7-time Best PBA Import Bobby Parks, who passed away in March 2013.

“For me it was worth it. I mean, to be there until his dying seconds was a blessing for me,” Parks said.

Parks also says he can offer leadership, energy, defense, and the ability to play two positions for whichever team would draft him.
