Report: Paul George to visit Philippines next week
The Indiana Pacers forward is scheduled to visit 3 cities in China and the Philippines

MANILA, Philippines – Indiana Pacers star Paul George is set to visit the Philippines next week for a tour representing Nike as their ambassador, according to the Associated Press.

The report by Michael Marot on the AP website indicates that George will have a 3-city stop next week, with cities in the Philippines and China as his landing ports.

George, who will most likely visit Manila for his visit to the Philippines, is expected to be here as part of the Nike Rise basketball program-documentary that was launched by the global apparel brand just weeks ago.

Rise aims to find some of the undiscovered basketball talents around the Philippines.

It will be the second time George visits the Philippines. He was also in Manila during October 2013 for the NBA Global Games – a week-long festivity that culminated in the first ever NBA preseason game held in the country between the Indiana Pacers and Houston Rockets.

During an interview with Bleacher Report radio on Sunday, July 12, 4-time NBA MVP LeBron James told reporters Ethan Skolnick and Howard Beck that he would also visit China sometime in August.

James, who like George is one of Nike’s biggest brand ambassadors, is also expected to visit China for their Nike Rise program.

Just a week ago, up-and-coming NBA star Anthony Davis was in China for the Rise program.

George spent most of last NBA season on the injury list after breaking his leg during a Team USA scrimmage in Las Vegas last August.

George returned late in the season and played 6 games, averaging 8.8 points and 3.7 rebounds a game while shooting 37% from the field.
