Gilas drops second straight after loss to Chinese Taipei
MANILA, Philippines – A day after falling to India, Gilas Pilipinas 5.0 suffered their second straight defeat in the 2016 FIBA Asia Challenge by losing to Chinese Taipei, 87-76, on Sunday, September 11, in Tehran, Iran.
The national team started strong as it went up by 7 after the first quarter, but Chinese Taipei rallied in the next two periods to tie the contest entering the fourth quarter.
It was there where the Philippines was dominated, 25-14, leading to the loss and an 0-2 record so far in the tournament.
Mac Belo again led the Philippines with 17 points and 7 boards, while CJ Perez added 15 points. Quincy Davis led Chinese Taipei with 19 points and 16 boards.
