Chooks-to-Go calls up a young team to lead it to its first international stint

MANILA, Philippines – The roster of the Philippine Team to the 2017 FIBA Asia Champions Cup was announced on Tuesday, September 19, at the send-off party held at Discovery Suites in Mandaluyong.

Carrying the colors Chooks-to-Go, the 12-man lineup consisted of Kiefer Ravena, Jeron Teng, Almond Vosotros, Carl Bryan Cruz, LA Revilla, Norbert Torres, Raymar Jose, Jett Manuel, Jeric Teng, Al Francis Tamsi, Rodrigue Ebondo and Isaiah Austin

The team will be led by Chot Reyes, Jong Uichico and Josh Reyes, while Butch Antonio will serve as the manager of  the team.

Imports 7-foot-1 Austin and Centro Escolar University big man Ebondo have yet to finalize their visas. Gab Banal and Andre Paras are reserved as alternates, if visa problems persist.

Chooks-to-Go is sending out a young delegation due to unavailability of veteran players, who are currently participating in the PBA Governors’ Cup.

“The PBA has no obligations to the team,” said Coach Chot.

This will be the first time Chooks-to-Go will be donning the Philippines’ colors in an international competition. – Rappler.com
