MANILA, Philippines – The second and final batch of Gilas Pilipinas players arrived back in Manila on Tuesday, September 9 after a 5-game run at the FIBA World Cup in Seville, Spain. 

Gilas coach Chot Reyes, assistant Josh Reyes, team captain Jimmy Alapag, Gabe Norwood, LA Tenorio, Jared Dillinger and Japeth Aguilar arrived in NAIA a few days after the first batch of the Philippine men’s national basketball team returned from Spain.

The Philippine team, which competed at the FIBA World Cup for the first time in 36 years, lost competitive games to Croatia, Greece, Argentina and Puerto Rico before defeating Senegal in overtime to close out their campaign.
