MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – Oklahoma City Thunder center Enes Kanter visited the Philippine House of Representatives on Wednesday, May 10. 

The 6’11” Turkish basketball player is in Manila to launch the Enes Kanter Light Foundation, which aims to provide shelter, food, education, and other assistance to underprivileged youth. Kanter will be forming the foundation with the help of Fountain International School. 

On Monday, Kanter paid a courtesy call on Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez. He also got the chance to meet several other Filipino lawmakers. 

Before leaving Alvarez’s office, Kanter gave the Davao del Norte 1st District representative an autographed basketball. 

Kanter then watched the House plenary session at 4 pm as a guest of Puwersa ng Bayaning Atleta Representatives Jericho Nograles and Mark Zambar.

House Secretary General Cesar Pareja told Rappler that Kanter will have a friendly basketball game with lawmakers and House staff on Thursday, May 11. They will be shooting hoops at the Kerry Center in Bonifacio Global City.
