Jones has racked up $9,000 in fines, which is just $127 less than what his regular season contract was worth

MANILA, Philippines – Cleveland Cavaliers’ veteran Dahntay Jones has accumulated up to $9,000 worth of fine in the playoffs alone, and if you take into account his regular season salary – $9,127 to be exact – then you would know he hasn’t much left in his contract.

That’s why a concerned Cavs fan started a GoFundMe page to help alleviate the burden for the 36-year-old veteran.

The page, which was opened by a Cleveland native named Ricky, called on his fellow Cavs supporters to participate in the movement.

“So we, as Cleveland Cavalier fans can sit and wait for Jones to get fined and King James to bail him out. OR we can be proactive and let Dahntay know ahead of time what infractions he can and can not do based up the money we come up with,” wrote Ricky in the description page.

“Think of it as putting money on his books, pre-paid fines, paying for ones in game sins. Donate if you want, donate if you can, donate as you see fit.”

He added that “at the end of the day, we owe it to Dahntay Jones, the city of Cleveland, and the Cleveland Cavaliers to do all we can to defend the land.”

Despite logging in an average of 3 minutes per game in the playoffs, Jones managed to rack up thousands of penalties. His latest came from his team’s Game 4 victory against the Golden State Warriors, where he was called with a technical foul for trash talking on the bench.

The T cost him $3,000 from the league, as reported by ESPN’s Brian Windhorst.

He was also earlier stamped with a $6,000 fine following a pair of technical fouls in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Toronto Raptors.

LeBron James also previously offered to pay for his teammate Jones’ earlier fines, according to a report by ESPN.
