Social media, celebs celebrate with Warriors
Twitter explodes to cheer the Warriors and mourn the Cavs

MANILA, Philippines – After the Golden State Warriors took the championship away from the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 5 of the NBA Finals, 129-120, the crowd in the Oracle Arena weren’t the only ones cheering. People from all around the world also did.

Social media exploded with all kinds of messages, praises and memes, especially after Durant was rewarded for an overwhelming run with his first-ever NBA championship and was named the Finals MVP.

Durant top scored for Golden State with 39 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists.

The Warriors rallied a historic 16-1 playoff record en route to the title.

Cleveland’s supporters also showed some love to the Cavaliers for putting up a good fight in the best-of-7 series. The LeBron James-led squad closed this year’s NBA season Finals with a win in Game 4.

James generated 41 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists but it still wasn’t enough to force a Game 6.

Holly Peete, Kobe Bryant and Dwayne Wade extended their greetings to the Warriors in Twitter as well as local celebrities and athletes like Gretchen Ho, Alyssa Valdez, Bobby Ray Parks Jr, and Karylle.

The NBA Finals wouldn’t be the NBA Finals without hilarious memes.
