Kings’ Cauley-Stein wishes for a Rockets-Celtics finals
The Sacramento Kings center wants to see a 'change of culture' in the 2018 NBA finals

MANILA, Philippines – Someone is not looking forward to Warriors-Cavs Part 4.

Sacramento Kings center Willie Cauley-Stein told reporters that he is looking forward to an NBA Finals matchup between the Houston Rockets and the Boston Celtics during his first-ever visit to the Philippines for the Jr NBA program, Tuesday, May 15.

“I’d like to see the Celtics and Rockets, just for a change of culture,” he said. “It’ll be really cool but it’s probably gonna be the [Golden State] Warriors and [Cleveland Cavaliers] and the Warriors are probably gonna take [the championship].”

The former University of Kentucky standout expressed his support for LeBron James and the Cavs, despite them losing by 25 in Game 1 to his sentimental pick Celtics.

“It’s always weird, you know when you see LeBron get beat by 20 yesterday,” he said. “He’s probably gonna come back and win by 20 tomorrow.”

The 6-foot-11 rising star is currently in the country to headline the Jr NBA program. Along with WNBA legend Sheryl Swoopes, who was not available for the media earlier, Cauley-Stein will help identify the top boys and girls to be named as the 2018 Jr NBA All-Stars and serve as a coach at the Jr NBA Alumni All-Star Game.

These All-Stars get to travel to Shanghai in October to attend the NBA China Games featuring the Philadelphia 76ers and the Dallas Mavericks.

“I’m excited to share my basketball knowledge and help the kids become the best version of themselves on and off the court,” Cauley-Stein said.

The 24-year old is about to enter his 3rd season with the rebuilding Kings in October. This season, he showed flashes of an all-around skill set and finished with averages of 12.8 points, 7 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.9 blocks in 73 appearances.

In his 3 years with Kentucky, he got to team up with borderline superstars like Karl-Anthony Towns and Devin Booker. In 2015, all 3 declared for the NBA draft, with Towns going first, Cauley-Stein going 6th and Booker going 13th. – Rappler.com
