LOOK: NBA players react to Kevin Durant Achilles injury

 

 

MANILA, Philippines – Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant willed his way back to play in a do-or-die Game 5 in the NBA Finals and quickly paid the price for it. 

On a routine crossover drive in the 2nd quarter against the Toronto Raptors, the reigning two-time Finals MVP crumpled to the floor clutching his right leg.

As it turns out, it was a right Achilles injury, a re-aggravation of his weeks-long battle with a calf strain. (READ: Warriors confirm Durant Achilles injury after Game 5 win)

Upon realizing that Durant was injured again, fans in a packed Scotiabank Arena burst to raucous cheering, which prompted Raptors players to shush them down and several Warriors players to visibly express their disgust.

Other NBA players took notice as well and they took to Twitter to give the Raptors fans a piece of their mind.

Warriors center DeMarcus Cousins took it a notch higher and let loose the expletives in a post-game scrum.

Those fans, however, were controlled shortly after and instead chanted for Durant on his way out.

 

Ibaka and other players from Raptors holding their arms out to try to get crowd to calm down. PA announcer literally comes on mic to say "Shhhhhhh." Eventually fans start clapping for him as he exits, and start to chant "KD"

Durant finished with 11 points in 12 minutes and is now set for a new MRI scan tomorrow. Meanwhile, the title defense goes on for the Warriors, who now head back to the Oracle Arena for a final home game on Thursday, June 13 (Friday, June 14, Philippine time). – Rappler.com
