IN PHOTOS: Rain or Shine claims title, Lee is Finals MVP
MANILA, Philippines – The drought is over, here comes the rain.
The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters finally captured the franchise's second championship, 4 years after the first one, after they defeated the Alaska Aces in 6 games in the 2016 PBA Commissioner's Cup.
The Painters, who led the series 3-0 before allowing the Aces to win two games in a row, regained their shooting touch in Game 6 and pounded their foes for the decisive 109-92 victory.
Veteran Paul Lee was named Finals MVP as he put on a superb performance coming back from a nagging knee injury all season.
Rain or Shine endured 4 runner-up heartbreaks before finally getting over the hump.
