Alaska gets into playoffs with win over NLEX

MANILA, Philippines – Led by the strong play of import LaDontae Henton, the Alaska Aces defeated the NLEX Road Warriors, 100-85, and clinched a berth in the PBA Governors’ Cup playoffs on Friday, September 16, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.

Henton finished with 27 points on 50% shooting and added 7 rebounds, while Sonny Thoss had 10 points and 10 boards and Calvin Abueva had 10 points and 11 rebounds. RJ Jazul also played well, finishing with 14 points and 6 assists.

Alaska used a 28-18 second quarter to build a 15-point lead against NLEX at the half, and stayed in control the rest of the way to improve its record to 6-5. 

The Road Warriors, now 5-6, were led by the 29 points and 10 rebounds of import Henry Walker. Asi Taulava also played well with 14 points and 7 boards.

Despite the loss, NLEX is still assured of making the postseason.
