Playoff-bound San Miguel finishes off Blackwater as Millsap returns
MANILA, Philippines – Import Elijah Mi,llsap debuted with 25 points and 14 rebounds in his PBA comeback, leading the San Miguel Beermen to a 107-101 victory over the Blackwater Elite to end their 2016 PBA Governors' Cup eliminations on Sunday, September 18 at the Alonte Sports Arena in Biñan, Laguna.
Millsap, who also had 4 assists and a steal, last saw action in the PBA for the same franchise in 2013, when it was still named the Petron Blaze Boosters.
Already assured of a twice-to-beat edge with an 8-3 win-loss slate, the Beermen eased past the Elite and led by as much as 17 points before the Elite closed the gap late.
Arwind Santos continues his steady play with a 19-point, 7-rebound performance. June Mar Fajardo contributed 18 points with 8 rebounds, while Alex Cabagnot and Ronald Tubid had 17 and 15 points, respectively.
Art Dela Cruz led 6 Blackwater players in double figures with 23 points and 11 rebounds as the Elite exited another forgettable season with a single win in 11 games and a 9-game losing streak.
