MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – The NLEX Road Warriors completed a late rally in the fourth and came out with an overtime win against the Alaska Aces, 99-97, in the PBA Philippine Cup on Friday, November 25 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Sean Anthony led the way for Yeng Guiao’s squad, pitching in 21 points and 14 rebounds. Jonas Villanueva also turned out to be a huge factor down the stretch, as he put up 16 points and 5 assists. 

The game was tied at 88 at the end of regulation after Carlo Lastimosa failed to make a game-winning triple for NLEX. 

Down 97-99 with 10.2 seconds remaining in overtime, Alaska obtained a few chances to tie the game but missed four attempts around the basket. 

Meanwhile, rookie Carl Bryan Cruz left a huge impression as he put up a double-double in his first professional game for Alaska with 20 points, 14 rebounds, and 2 steals.

Vic Manuel also contributed 19 markers and 8 boards for the Aces, who entered the new season sans star player Calvin Abueva.
