IN PHOTOS: San Miguel fulfills 3-peat goal in 2017 Philippine Cup
MANILA, Philippines – The San Miguel Beermen have achieved a rare feat of winning the Philippine Cup title for 3 straight years.
The Beermen staved off Barangay Ginebra in 5 games, winning Game 5, 91-85, of the 2017 PBA Philippine Cup Finals on Sunday, March 5 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
It's San Miguel's 23rd franchise trophy.
Chris Ross was named Finals MVP for the second straight Philippine Cup with his finals averages of 17.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, 9.2 assists, and 1.8 steals.
Coach Leo Austria also stretched his finals record to 4-of-4, winning those 4 titles since he began handling the team in 2014.
