The general admission tickets will be given away to the first 1,000 early birds for Sunday's games at the Mall of Asia Arena

MANILA, Philippines – For its 42nd anniversary, the PBA is looking to treat its fans by giving away 1,000 free general admission tickets for the Sunday, April 9 double-header in the 2017 Commissioner’s Cup.

The tickets will be given away to the first 1,000 early birds for Sunday’s games at the Mall of Asia Arena, which feature the TNT KaTropa against the Mahindra Floodbuster, and the marquee “Manila Clasico” match-up between the Star Hotshots and Barangay Ginebra San Miguel.

The celebrations will continue through the two games with the unveiling of the league’s new theme song.

“We owe our fans a great deal of gratitude. They are the reason why the PBA remains strong through these years,” PBA Commissioner Chito Narvasa was quoted as saying in a statement.

“We can’t thank them enough. All we can offer them is a promise that the Commissioner’s Office, the team owners and the Board of Governors will continue to work hard to ensure them of top notch games.”

“We are also improving on our social media platform to keep them informed on all the happenings around the league and get them closer to their favorite players,” he added.

Part of the festivities includes the showing of throwback clips and highlights of the league’s over 4 decades of existence, which will be played on the big screen in every quarter.

The league will likewise be giving away television sets and smart phones, among other items on Sunday.

The first game will begin at 4:30 pm while the second commences at 6:45 pm. – Rappler.com
