Alaska sends TNT tumbling to first conference loss
MANILA, Philippines – The Alaska Aces showed no mercy and sent TNT KaTropa tumbling to their first loss in the 2018 PBA Commissioner's Cup conference, 110-100, on Sunday, May 13, at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
Vic Manuel shot 12-of-18 from the field to score a career-high of 29 points while grabbing 12 rebounds in the game the Aces controlled all the way.
The Aces pinned on KaTropa their first loss in 4 games to tie their victims at 3-1.
Jayson Castro led 5 TNT players in double-figures to finish with 18 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds.
TNT surrendered the first half to the Aces as the KaTropa shot 32.7% from the field compared to Alaska's 48.9%.
By halftime, Antonio Campbell and Manuel already scored double digits of 18 and 10 points, respectively.
TNT managed to cut the lead to 10 points midway through the 3rd quarter via a 12-2 run capped by a Terrence Romeo triple, but Alaska quickly responded to put the lead back up to 20 points.
