MANILA, Philippines – It has been almost a month since FIBA suspended Kiefer Ravena  from international play and the PBA, but the NLEX star is keeping himself busy. (READ: FIBA suspends Kiefer Ravena for 18 months after testing positive for banned substances)

For one, he said he’s working to get 8-pack abs, which he vowed to achieve in one year and 5 months. (READ: Kiefer Ravena finds silver lining in ‘painful and life changing’ suspension)

“He still keeps working out, his training everyday [focuses on] strength and conditioning,” Kiefer’s father Bong Ravena said in an interview after the UAAP-NCAA Collegiate Basketball Awards on Thursday, June 21, where he received Thirdy Ravena’s Mythical 5 citation. 

“Then on the side, relax-relax pag minsan (sometimes he just relaxes) with golf,” added the elder Ravena. 

Even his girlfriend and volleyball phenom Alyssa Valdez unwinds with him, as she will be juggling the Premier Volleyball League Final 4 schedule with her national team training starting on July 1. 

The college basketball phenom may have been forced to take a break from basketball, but all he wants now is to get back on court with the NLEX Road Warriors, who are currently facing a 3-game losing streak and dealing with his absence and the key losses of Kevin Alas and Larry Fonacier to injuries.

“We’re waiting for the latest regarding FIBA and we’re hoping that it will be shortened,” Bong Ravena said of Kiefer’s suspension.

It’s one month down, but if the appeal doesn’t pan out, Kiefer has 17 more months to fill in his calendar.  – Rappler.com
