Terrence Jones shrugs off ejection after monster game
The former NBA player says his only worry is to win games for TNT

MANILA, Philippines – Terrence Jones did not make a big fuss about his ejection in just his second PBA game, saying his only worry is to make TNT better as the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup progresses.

The former NBA player was tossed out of the playing court with less than 3 minutes remaining in a 99-85 victory over Alaska on Saturday, May 25, after he was called for an unsportsmanlike foul.

Earlier incurring a technical foul, Jones was eventually thrown out after he was whistled for a flagrant foul penalty 1 on Jake Pascual while he was lying on the floor.

“I think it was a difficult call. I think the guy threw an elbow first to pit me on the ground and then kind of like tried to step over me and I tried to protect myself,” Jones said.

“But I’m just here to try to win games and that’s what we did.”

“It was the first time a team tried to get under my skin and do extra stuff that weren’t basketball-related but I just tried to stick to the plan, which was just so stay focused on basketball.”

Jones was as good as advertised as he scorched the nets for his second straight 40-point game with 43 points on a 15-of-28 shooting from the field and a 5-of-8 clip from long range.

He also had 22 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks in another dominant showing.

While the ejection might have spoiled his performance, Jones did not seem to have a problem with the call.

“I’m not the ref so I’m going to just stick to playing my game and just worrying about me and my team getting better for the next game.”

Now at 2-0, Jones believes the KaTropa have plenty more to improve in their next assignments.

“I think were going keep getting better, we’re going to keep learning one another and keep building this chemistry until we get to the playoffs,” he said.
