BATANGAS CITY, Philippines – Stanley Pringle made his keenly-awaited debut for Barangay Ginebra and quickly impressed in a 100-85 romp of NLEX in the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup on Sunday, June 23. 

Playing before a packed Batangas City Complex, Pringle – who saw action for the first time since his trade from NorthPort – dazzled with 16 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 steals as the Gin Kings earned their fourth win in 7 games.

Pringle backstopped Justin Brownlee, who starred with 37 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists, and 5 blocks in the lopsided win that saw Barangay Ginebra enjoy a lead as large as 27 points. 

The Road Warriors were still within striking distance, trailing 42-50 at halftime before allowing their opponents to drop a 26-7 bomb – capped by 8 straight LA Tenorio points – and they never made a fight out of it since. 

Tenorio chalked up 11 points, Greg Slaughter had 10 points and 7 rebounds, while Japeth Aguilar added 8 points and 2 blocks in the win. 

Poy Erram submitted his best game of the conference with 20 points and 14 rebounds, but NLEX could not sustain its momentum from its breakthrough win 4 days ago as it fell to a league-worst 1-7. 

Tony Mitchell delivered 17 points and 8 rebounds, Kenneth Ighalo had 13 points, while Jericho Cruz added 12 points and 5 assists in the losing effort.
