Meet Rodney Brondial’s 9-month old French Bulldog Rodman
Rodney Brondial had a terrific game for Barangay Ginebra on Wednesday, and his French Bulldog may have been the lucky charm his team has been missing

MANILA, Philippines – Rodney Brondial had a terrific performance for Barangay Ginebra San Miguel in their game against the Barako Bull Energy on Wednesday, June 17. But hours before helping his team stave off elimination, the former Adamson Falcon was caught in a situation.

Before heading to the Smart Araneta Coliseum where Ginebra’s game against Barako Bull took place, Brondial planned to drop his 9-month old French Bulldog Rodman at his condominium unit near Eastwood side.

However, it slipped the mind of the rookie big man who realized his pet was still in his car by the time he reached the arena.

Due to the congested traffic in Manila and the rain, Brondial opted to keep Rodman in the Ginebra dugout throughout the contest, which they came out victorious from 120-98.

Brondial tallied 10 points and 6 rebounds while going 5-of-5 from the floor, but more importantly provided energy and hustle his team needed to create separation in the fourth quarter.

When asked by members of the media if Brondial plans to bring Rodman again as a good luck charm for the 4-6 Gin Kings, the Ginebra big man said he wasn’t sure due to the dog’s barking in the team locker room.

But with the result of Ginebra’s last game, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the team’s fans hoping that Rodman makes another appearance, especially if it could bring the Gin Kings better fortune. Superstitions in basketball, after all, are not uncommon.
