MANILA, Philippines – Eight players from Kaya FC found the back of the net tonight as they shamed bottom-dwellers Pasargad FC, 9-nil.

The win increases pressure on the league’s frontrunners in the 2014 United Football League last Tuesday, March 25, at the Emperador Stadium in Taguig City.

The struggling Pasargad side was on the receiving end of another heavy-beating as Christian Ayew Egba hit the mark twice while Masanari Omura, Kenshiro Daniels, Anton del Rosario, Pablo Rodriguez Aracil, OJ Porteria, Richard Greer and Janrick Soriano all scored a goal each to lift Kaya to 27 points, just four points behind second place Global FC in the standings.

Long-time Kaya midfielder Omura hinted everyone of the things to come as he got the scoring party started with a goal right in the first minute.

The Azkals youngster Daniels then doubled his squad’s lead and made it 2-0 just 19 minutes into the first half.

Pasargad – which slid to its fourth straight loss – momentarily stopped the bleeding before Kaya detonated a three-goal bomb within seven minutes courtesy of del Rosario, Rodriguez Aracil, and Porteria who scored in the 30th, 35th, and 37th minute respectively.

Kaya’s new acquisition Ayew Egba then joined the onslaught, drilling in Porteria’s corner just three minutes after the halftime break. He then completed his first brace in the UFL in the hour mark for 7-nil.

Rodriguez Aracil, however, wasted an opportunity to double his production after Jeffrey Albon foiled his 58th minute attempt from the penalty spot.

But the miss did not matter as Greer increased Kaya’s lead to eight goals 71 minutes into the game.

Kaya’s supersub Soriano once again made the most of his limited time when he wrapped up the rout by blasting in del Rosario’s fantastic assist in the 76th.

Coach David Perkovic’s boys now have eight wins, three draws, and three defeats as they play catch up with Loyola (32 points) and Global (31 points) who are currently in a tight race to the top midway into this season.

PSG, meanwhile, drops to 1-1-10 and remains at the bottom of the table with only four points to show after 12 league games.

Both sides will return to action on March 29 with Kaya facing Team Socceroo in the first game and Pasargad squaring off with Global in the main match. – Rappler.com
