MANILA, Philippines – Looking to settle their sibling rivalry on the pitch in Clear Dream Match 3, Phil and James Younghusband have buffed up their respective squads as the country’s biggest football all-star game yet unfolds on June 7 at the University of Makati.

In a draft on Wednesday, April 30 at the Hyve in Taguig City, the brothers selected their rosters from a pool of 30 of the brightest local football stars in the United Football League who will play side by side with Manchester United’s living legends in Paul Scholes and Andy Cole.

The Loyola Meralco and Azkals striker Phil selected Carlie de Murga, who is coming off a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to injury, as his co-captain while James – who scored the Sparks’ lone goal in their 1-2 loss to Global this week – picked Pachanga Diliman’s Nate Burkey.

To make the third installment of Clear Dream Match more competitive, both squads were given five picks they can control in the first round of draft with Phil choosing to control the midfield with picks of Chris Greatwich, Mark Hartmann, Anto Gonzales, Samuel Bonney, and Baba Sampana.

Team James, on the other hand, opted to build their squad around a mix of potent attackers and hard-nosed defenders, selecting Joaco Canas, Simon Greatwich, OJ Porteria, Anton del Rosario, and Misagh Bahadoran.

Also joining Team Phil – which convincingly won in the first edition before losing badly to Team James last year – via lottery are Ruben Doctora, John Cain, Matthew Hartmann, PJ Fadrigalan, Nick O’Donnell, Roxy Dorlas, Kenshiro Daniels, Tating Pasilan, Patrick Deyto and Simone Rota.

The rest of Team James, meanwhile, is comprised of Steve Yambou, Jeff Christiaens, Andrew Liauw, Dae Han Kang, Marvin Angeles, Lee Joo Young, Chieffy Caligdong, Emmanuel Mbata, Roland Sadia, Ed Sacapano, Izzo Elhabbib, and Daisuke Sato.

Up and coming amateur footballers are also expected to spice up the match with Mikko Mabanag, Yoshiharu Koizumi, Javier Gayoso, and Darius Diamante joining Team Phil and Daniel Gadia and Francisco Jose Primo Santos suiting up for Team James.

Online voting will continue until May 25 with the team with the highest point getting the privilege of choosing which Manchester United legend will join them.
