Green Archers United FC outplays Team Socceroo FC
MANILA, Philippines- Green Archers United FC dominated Team Socceroo FC, 5-0, in their first division match-up in the United Football League on Sunday, March 22.
Both teams went head on during the opening moments of the match as Team Socceroo looked on to book their first win of the season while the Green Archers were searching to bounce back from a defeat from Loyola last week.
The men of Socceroo started their offensive blitz during the 11th minute with a shot by Mashood Shadideh off a free-kick but the goalkeeper of the opposing side Paolo Pascual tapped away his chance.
On the other end, the Green Archers brewed an attack of their own that was consequently rewarded with a slick conversion by Boyet Canedo in the 30th minute.
Rodolfo Alicante's stalwarts managed to slip in another goal and extend the lead to 2-0 as Robert Lopez Mendy hit his mark from a free-kick.
Team Socceroo's gameplay suffered a blow after one of their players, Arnel Casil, was given his second yellow of the game prompting the officials to send him off the pitch in the 71st minute.
To the dismay of the Socceroo faithful, another mark was etched to the scoreline of Green Archers this time by Jesus Melizza.
The waxing hot offense of Green Archers took the floor in the remaining minutes of regulation as substitute Daniel Del Rio, who came in during the 54th minute for Jimuel Ariola, clinched the fourth goal for his club while Melizza added the last note in their 5-0 win.
Meanwhile, Ceres La Salle FC banked on Spanish striker Adrian Gallardo's two-goal outing and skipper Juani Guirado's score to thwart Stallion FC, 3-0, and protect their unblemished record. - Rappler.com
