The two actors are set to settle their dispute in the URCC cage

MANILA, Philippines – There is still no love lost between film actors Baron Geisler and Kiko Matos.

The animosity between the two resulted in another ugly scene as both men nearly brawled again after the contract signing for their one-round mixed martial arts (MMA) match on June 25 under the Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC) banner.

The incident happened but the video was posted by MMA Philippines on Facebook on Friday. The video shows URCC founder Alvin Aguilar attempting to settle the differences between Geisler and Matos before their highly-publicized confrontation inside an MMA cage.

However, Matos refused to mend his fences with Geisler, forcefully shoving the other actor away from him before delivering a push kick to the midsection.

Geisler and Matos made the bout official by signing the fight contract on Monday, June 13 at the BAMF Center in Parañaque City.

The two men will square off against each other under pro-am MMA rules, which prohibit elbow strikes and knees to the head.

According to URCC referee Rulloda, the bout will have one 5-minute round, with both participants not being required to make weight for a particular division.

Geisler and Matos will wear amateur MMA gloves, which has more padding and weighs 6 ounces for increased protection.

Since it will be contested under pro-am MMA rules, competitors are not obliged to wear headgears and shin pads.

The rift between Geisler and Matos stemmed from an altercation at a local bar in Quezon City this past May.

Aguilar made a formal invitation to Geisler and Matos on May 30 during the press conference of the organization’s upcoming event, which takes place at Valkyrie in Taguig City.

Geisler and Matos accepted the promotion’s offer to resolve their beef inside the URCC cage as a co-featured attraction on its “Fight Night” card. – Rappler.com
