Kevin Belingon wants to fight on ONE Championship’s December card in PH
With ONE Championship having its ninth trip to the Philippines on December 2, Filipino fighter Belingon wants a homecoming bout

MANILA, Philippines – Kevin Belingon has no plans to take time off after getting his first win in nearly two years as he desires to get back inside the ONE Championship cage as soon as possible.

With ONE Championship having its ninth trip to the Philippines on December 2, the 28-year-old Baguio City native would like to have a spot on the fight card, which takes place at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

“I want to fight again. I’m free on December 2 for the Manila event. Having a fight on that card will be amazing,” Belingon told Rappler.

Belingon returned to his winning ways by carving out a unanimous decision victory over Tajik standout Muin Gafurov on the undercard of ONE Championship’s “State of Warriors” card on Friday, October 7.

From bell to bell, the former ONE Championship bantamweight title challenger banked on his lashing leg kicks and takedown defense to keep Gafurov at bay.

Belingon continued to dictate the pace of the match in the third and final frame, where he maintained his distance by consistently telegraphing his leg kicks while making Gafurov hesitate to cut the gap with his signature left hook.

Despite going through a tactical bout against Gafurov, Belingon signified his intention to compete at ONE Championship’s December event in the Philippines as he did not suffer any serious injury.

“I’m still in good shape. I have no injuries. If they will offer me a fight, I’m here to accept the offer to fight in Manila on December 2,” he stated.

Belingon stressed that he has no preferences and is willing to face any opponent in his division.

“I can fight anyone in my division. I don’t have to choose my opponent. I will just fight anyone who’s in front of me,” he said. – Rappler.com
