Alyssa Valdez earns another Shakey's V-League MVP award
MANILA, Philippines – Ateneo Lady Eagles star Alyssa Valdez added another individual accomplishment to her crowded mantle after being named the MVP of the Shakey’s V-League Season 12 Collegiate Conference on Sunday, September 20, at the San Juan Arena.
Valdez, who was named the MVP of the V-League Open Conference in May, was also given the Best Outside Hitter award.
The awarding ceremonies took place after Valdez’s team, the Ateneo Lady Eagles, beat the National University Lady Bulldogs in 3 sets, 25-19, 25-13, 25-21, in game one of the open conference finals on Sunday.
Valdez’s teammate Bea De Leon and National U’s Jaja Santiago were named the Best Middle Blockers of the tourney during the ceremonies.
UST’s EJ Laure, meanwhile, was honored with the second Best Outside Hitter award while FEU’s Jovelyn Gonzaga was named the Best Opposite Spiker.
UST and FEU are currently locked in a best-of-3 series for the third place award, with the latter ahead 1-0.
