Even without its newest addition Kalei Mau, F2 gets off to rousing start in the 2019 PSL All-Filipino conference

MANILA, Philippines – F2 Logistics got off to a good start in its bid for the 2019 PSL All-Filipino conference crown with a straight-set win, 25-12, 25-21, 25-17, over 2018 2nd runner-up Generika-Ayala on Saturday, June 15, at the Filoil Flying V Centre.

Aby Maraño delivered 15 points off 9 attacks, 5 blocks and 1 ace that helped carry F2 Logistics up 1-0 in the standings.

Despite her awaited debut, Kalei Mau was only listed as a reserve in the opening game, but the Fil-Hawaiian open spiker will be able to play in the Cargo Movers’ next game against PLDT on Tuesday, June 18.

F2 also enjoyed the services of Kim Dy who is returning from a left knee injury. Despite still getting her groove back, Dy chipped in 7 points.

Maganda sa side namin, at least may La Salle connection kaya may advantage. Malaking tulong [sa lineup] ‘yung mga college players na kasama sa team,” said F2 head coach Ramil de Jesus.

(What’s good in our side is that at least we have a La Salle connection as an advantage. The college players who are part of the team are a big help in adding to our lineup.)

After taking control of the 1st set, the Lifesavers stayed within reach of the Cargo Movers in the 2nd frame, 18-19.

F2 managed to pull away down the stretch with a 5-1 run to reach set point, 24-19, and Maraño pushed the Cargo Movers to a 2-0 lead in the match.

The 2018 1st runner-up built enough cushion from a 6-0 start to the 3rd set that was eventually closed out by Aduke Ogunsanya’s back-to-back points.

On the other hand, Fiola Ceballos was the lone double-digit scorer of Generika as she scored 10 markers all from spikes.

The Lifesavers fell to 0-1 in the standings. – Rappler.com
