MANILA, Philippines – Adamson University got back on track after waylaying St. Louis University in straight sets in the Shakey’s V-League Season 11 First Conference on Thursday, March 27 at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

Save for a shaky third set, the Lady Falcons saw no problem dealing with the Lady Navigators to record their first win in two outings, 25-10, 25-10, 25-20. St. Louis meanwhile dropped to 0-2 in Group A.

Down big after two forgettable sets, the Lady Navigators suddenly shifted to high gear in the third frame, with middle hitter Colleen Rossi and opener Krissian Tsu Chiya inflicting damage.

The Baguio-based spikers took the 14-13 lead off a Rossi block point, but a string of errors enabled the Lady Falcons to take a 20-19 edge.

That was the closest St. Louis could get as Adamson walked away with five of the set’s last six points.

“Our performance improved especially the younger ones. They were given a chance and they delivered. Third set was a good test,” said Adamson head coach Sherwin Meneses, whose girls finished off their foes in just 68 minutes.

“We had a two-week break before this due to the players’ final exams. It’s a good thing we finally got a complete roster in training.”

Mylene Paat led Adamson with 11 points on 4 blocks and 2 aces. Twelve players scored for Meneses, who finished with 45 attacks compared to a dismal 13 for the Lady Navigators.
