Adamson Lady Falcons repulse UST Tigresses for V-League bronze
Adamson University swept the UST Tigresses in their best-of-3 series to earn bronze in the Shakey's V-League season 11 first conference

MANILA, Philippines – The bronze goes to the Lady Falcons.

Adamson University swept the UST Tigresses in their best-of-3 series in the battle for third, trouncing a struggling UST in straight sets, 25-15, 25-17, 25-22, in Game 2 on Sunday, May 25 at the Arena in San Juan.

It was a picture of dominance once again for the Lady Falcons in Game 2 as they erased the Tigresses’ 22-20 lead in the third set, promptly scoring 5 straight points on their way to clinching the bronze medal of the Shakey’s V-League Season 11 first conference.

Thai guest player Pacharee Sangmuang topscored for the Lady Falcons with 14 points as another fellow guest player and former Lady Falcon herself Pau Soriano made good on 9 attacks to finish with 11 markers.

Usual suspects Shiela Pineda and Amanda Villanueva also chipped in 11 points apiece.

UST barely threatened as Adamson pushed the tempo on both attacks and services as the Lady Falcons held a 10-4 advantage in service aces.

In Game 1, the Lady Falcons swept the rug from underneath UST with a 4-set win.

Tigresses head coach Odjie Mamon pins their loss on his team’s failure to show their true game, which he says may be due to a shift in the team’s mindset.

“You can label this as a bad game,” Mamon lamented. “Our observation is the players were not their usual selves. I think they were on vacation mode already.”

It has been a conference of ups and downs for the Tigresses who won 5 straight games before losing their last 5 outings including this game.

This conference’s Best Scorer EJ Laure of UST managed just 9 points.

The Lady Falcons, meanwhile, improved on their 4th place finish from last conference.
