Gameplan: Manila Urban Adventure
Sandboarding in Ilocos, Spelunking in Sagada, Canyoneering in Cebu – these are but some of the top Philippine destinations when it comes to sports and adventure. But who says you have to travel far to experience exciting activities and get your adrenaline going? Gameplan hosts Amanda, Julian, and Ton each show you what you can do in the metro.
Amanda’s Manila Urban Adventure: Dragonboat
Jaime Mendejar and the rest of the Manila Dragons walk Amanda through the basic steps on how the proper strokes are when paddling.
“There are commands that you have to carefully listen to so you know what kind of strokes you actually need to do. Dragonboat is all about being synchronized and paddling in unison,” Jaime says.

Julian’s Manila Urban Adventure: Mermaid Swimming
Julian Rodriguez gets “how to be a merman” tips from Mermaid Institute’s founder, Roxy Flora. In Mermaid Swimming, one must have 2 things: (1) a monofin to have good propulsion (2) mermaid tail to get the full experience.
“It’s not that easy. It’s not just: Oh wear it and smile for the camera. You’re gonna really feel the burn in some areas but you’re gonna enjoy,” Roxy says.

Ton’s Manila Urban Adventure: Parkour
“Parkour is a creative and functional movement of overcoming obstacles,” Ninja Academy’s Roby Apelo explains to Ton. “If you can run, if you can jump then basically you can do parkour,” he adds.
