Turkish team arrives in Manila for FIBA OQT

MANILA, Philippines – The Turkish national men’s basketball team is already in the Philippines about a week before the 2016 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament tips off from July 5 to 10 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas, the Philippine basketball federation, posted photos of the team getting a warm welcome at NAIA Terminal 1 late Tuesday night, June 28.

Turkey will be one of 6 teams at the qualifier vying for one ticket to the Rio Olympics this August. The team is in Group A together with Canada and Senegal.

Gilas Pilipinas, the Philippine national team, likewise returned home around the same time from 3 weeks of training and tune-up games in Europe. – Rappler.com
