MANILA, Philippines – Tony Parker’s international career won’t end in the Philippines but rather in Rio de Janeiro.
The French star poured in 26 points and 4 assists as his national team earned a spot in the Rio Olympics with an 83-74 victory over Canada in the championship game of the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament Manila leg on Sunday, July 10 at Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Philippines.
Parker, along with fellow NBA players Nic Batum and Boris Diaw, overpowered a Canadian side which featured its own NBA players, Tristan Thompson and Cory Joseph, and are the last team standing among a pool that includes New Zealand, Senegal, Turkey and the Philippines.
