FIBA Asia: Hong Kong easily dispatches Kuwait

MANILA, Philippines – Hong Kong opened their campaign in the 2015 FIBA Asia Championship with a dominant victory over Kuwait, 87-50, at the CSWC Dayun Arena in Changsha, China on Wednesday, September 23.

Both teams are grouped with the Philippines and Palestine in Group B.

Led by the 13 points and 13 rebounds of Duncan Reid, Hong Kong opened their third period with a 12-3 run that helped them take control of the contest and never look back en route to victory.

Lee Ki also scored 15 points to aid the winning side, while Kam Hing Cheng put up 14 points.

Kuwait was led by the 15 points and 3 3-pointers of Mashari Abu-Dhom.

Hong Kong, who didn’t finish in the top 10 of the 2013 FIBA Asia Championship, will next face Gilas Pilipinas on Thursday, September 24. – Rappler.com
