Jackie Buntan showcases impressive striking prowess to grab a convincing decision victory in her ONE Championship debut

Fil-Am striker Jackie Buntan did not waste any time to announce her arrival in ONE: Fists of Fury as she picked up a convincing unanimous decision victory against Wondergirl Fairtex in their muay thai bout on Friday, February 26 at Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Buntan, a California-based fighter born to Filipino parents, leaned on her blinding speed to dictate the pace in the opening round before landing a solid left hook that sent Fairtex straight to the ground just seconds before the bell rang.

The onslaught continued for the Filipina in the following rounds as she used her accurate and quick combinations to slowly pull away against her rattled Thai opponent.

“I’m lost for words, I have 100% confidence in my training and my coaches, and I brought that here in the cage tonight,” Buntan said after the fight.

Buntan trains at Boxing Works Gym with reigning ONE atomweight kickboxing champion Janet Todd, who recently defeated Stamp Fairtex, Wondergirl’s teammate.

In the main event, Ilias Ennahachi successfully retained his ONE flyweight kickboxing world championship after taking a decision victory against Thailand’s Superlek Kiatmoo9.

While Superlek seemed to pick up his groove after the slippage issues in the opening round, Ennahachi still managed to fight back and match the Thai’s aggressiveness with his timely strikes.

With his victory, Ennahachi is now looking forward to a potential clash against ONE flyweight muay thai champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon, who also bagged a victory in the fight card against Tagir Khalilov.

Meanwhile, the 16-year old Victoria “The Prodigy” Lee (1-0) took a second-round submission victory against Thai brawler Sunisa “Thunderstorm” Srisen (4-2) in her much anticipated professional MMA debut.

Victoria, the younger sister of ONE title holders Angela (women’s atomweight) and Christian Lee (lightweight), displayed her well-rounded offense all throughout the fight and finished Srisen early in the second round with a rear-naked choke.
