MANILA, Philippines - After the 3-0 thrashing of Pachanga FC in their comeback game in the UFL last Sunday, March 1 Ceres La Salle FC extends their win streak to three at the expense of Philippine Army FC, 7-0, at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium on Tuesday, March 3.
Ceres FC, fresh out of the AFC Cup qualifiers, exhibited their their offensive dominance on the pitch with the 7 goal outing against the Army booters.
The game started in favor of the Bacolod-based kickers after Jason Panhay connected from deep inside the box in the 2nd minute. Army, on the other hand, tried to retaliate on their offensive end but their chances could not pass through the pesky defense of Ceres.
Jeffrey Christiaens doubled the lead of Ceres to 2-0 after converting a hail mary shot from way beyond the halfway line. Problems continued to pile up for Army FC as Nate Burkey and Adrian Gallardo each scored a brace to extend the lead of their club to 6-0 going into the half.
Play resumed with Army down to just 10 men after a second yellow card for the match was awarded to Erwin Silvestre.
To put the cherry on top of the commanding win, Gallardo clipped his hat-trick in the 79th minute off a pass from Burkey, giving Ceres-La Salle a 7-0 advantage in the remaining minutes of the game. - Rappler.com
