Luis Suarez is no stranger to Real Madrid, but he’s still determined to unleash a more lethal side in the Madrid Derby.
Since his transfer from FC Barcelona, it didn’t take long for the Uruguayan striker to become a key player in keeping Atletico Madrid on top of the table this season.
“I’ve always been very competitive. I’ve always shown what I wanted to do and keep on improving. I’ve always been ready for the next challenge or obstacle,” said Suarez, who has scored 16 goals in 21 games for his new club in league play.
Atletico surprised fans this season, overtaking Barcelona at 2nd and Real Madrid at 3rd with an 18-4-2 record.
The team has only conceded 16 goals over the course of 24 games played.
For Suarez, the Atleti are not stopping there as they target to bring home the LaLiga title to Wanda Metropolitano Stadium for the first time in 7 years.
“Being able to help a team like Atletico Madrid, who haven’t won any titles in a while, to win something big is obviously one of my main objectives,” added the 34-year-old striker. – Rappler.com
