MANILA, Philippines – NBA All-Stars Blake Griffin and Paul George will no longer be part of the Last Home Stand festivities from July 22-23 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The Los Angeles Clippers and Indiana Pacers stars will not visit Manila due to personal reasons, as explained by a press release issued by the event organizers.

Griffin also released a video explaining why he had to back out of the festivities, which will include a matchup between a select group of NBA All-Stars and Gilas Pilipinas.

The exhibition matchup is still set to take place with the proceeds going to the PDRF (Philippine Disaster Recovery Fund). Among the NBA guests currently present are James Harden, Kyle Lowry, Kawhi Leonard, DeMar DeRozan, Brandon Jennings, Terrence Ross, Damian Lillard, and Tyson Chandler.

The team is to be led by Head Coach John Lucas, who’s also organizing skills camps with the NBA players for kids over the two-day occasion.

Meanwhile, two more expected NBA personalities have yet to be seen in the Last Home Stand events.

One of the two is Houston Rockets rookie Nick Johnson, who has yet to fly to Manila due to the Rockets’ participation in the NBA Las Vegas Summer League Finals, which took place early Tuesday morning (PH time), July 22.

The other is Los Angeles Lakers forward Ed Davis, who hasn’t been heard from since revealing his participation in a tweet to MVP a few days ago.
