Gilas Pilipinas seeks to make history as it vies for a Tokyo Games berth in the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Serbia starting on Thursday, July 1 (Manila time).

The all-cadet crew looks to become the first Filipino basketball team to compete in the Olympics since 1972.

Standing in the Philippines’ way are world No. 5 Serbia and No. 19 Dominican Republic in the group stage.

Only the top two teams from the group will advance to the knockout round and vie for the lone Olympic spot available in the Serbia OQT leg.

The Filipinos will face the Serbians on Thursday and the Dominicans on Friday, July 2.
